more than you can ask or imagine

Klub Novi Most, Mostar

Hear what Maja, who is 17 and lives in Mostar has to say about Novi Most:

"I went to the Novi Most camp, as I have other years, but I was a little bit afraid that I would not fit in, because I was the only girl from Klub in Mostar, and because I didn't know anyone else. But on the camp I met so many new young people that I became really good friends with them! And I do hope I will see them again.

Every day in Klub over the summer was great and special in its own way. For my birthday they made me a surprise and I can say that it was the best birthday I ever had in my life!  Every day I spent with Laura, Izabela and Senada  was great and funny, full of joy and laughter. One day, all the girls from Klub Novi Most went to Sarajevo for a day, and that was the best day, a day I won't forget. We had great time, we walked on Sarajevo streets, we laughed and we had nice meal in McDonalds, and then the sad part was going home. I was sure that the summer was going to be just like any other and I was wrong, this was the best summer ever! And now I can't wait to hang out with my friends again!"

Young people from lots of different backgrounds come to Klub Novi Most to meet their friends and make news ones.  They can participate in a range of activities from table tennis, table football and playstation, card games, arts and crafts, fun games, and courses.

Open to young people aged between 11-21 years, there are different programmes for different age groups.   Sometimes there are quizzes and discussions, other nights there might be pizza, or dance.  Often there is a discussion time to provoke thinking on deeper issues, such as "Giving" or "What's your purpose?".   Watch the video to catch a glimpse of some of the things that have been happening over the summer!

Uni-hockey, book club, trips to the swimming pool and occasional days out Klubwith barbecues, or trips to other towns give Klub members opportunities and experiences which they may not otherwise get.

Short courses are offered in computing, guitar, dance and English, and homework help is given for those who want it.

Klub is a place where young people say they felt accepted - and where they can meet other young people with views and opinions different from their own.  That's quite something!

Mostar - Stari Most

Mostar

Mostar is famous the world over for its beautiful iconic bridge, the Stari Most, from which Novi Most takes its name.  The river Neretva divides the city and today Bosniaks live mostly on the East side, and Croats on the West.  Novi Most has worked in Mostar since 1993, and we are well established in the town.
