Meet The Team

Director
Becca Šimunović
From Summer Camp To Lifelong Mission
Becca’s journey with Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) began in 1999, when she served at Camp Rio, pouring into the lives of children and youth from across the country. Although I didn’t meet her that first summer, her impact was already evident. A year later, in 2000, Becca returned as an intern with Novi Most in Mostar, and that’s when I first saw her heart in action — full of passion for young people to thrive, gain confidence, and discover their true identity in God.
In 2007, she came back again — this time to pioneer Novi Most’s work in the town of Čapljina. She was instrumental in launching the youth club, teaching English, building meaningful relationships with local teens, and partnering with the newly planted Evangelical Church there. What began as a calling soon became her home. In this season, God not only deepened her love for BiH — He also brought her together with Ivica, her husband and a local believer, with whom she continues to serve faithfully.
Together, Becca and Ivica have given their lives to youth in BiH.
Their ministry is multifaceted and creative: leading prayer gatherings, organizing camps, hosting teen events, offering workshops in music, dance, and English, and mentoring countless young people through life’s challenges. They are part of the planning board for the national camp ministry of the Evangelical Church of BiH and have faithfully led teen camps for years, known for their care, creativity, and excellence.
Becca helped founding a community dance studio in Mostar, using her God-given love for dance to bless people of all ages with a safe space for joy, movement, and connection. And alongside Ivica — an extreme-sports enthusiast — she helps teens build confidence through outdoor adventures, showing them they are capable of far more than they think.
Over two decades, Becca has demonstrated unshakable commitment to the people of BiH. Her life speaks of faithfulness, creativity, and a relentless hope for a generation to encounter the love of Christ. Becca and Ivica’s work is grassroots, relational, and deeply needed — but it relies on the generous support of people like you. Your giving enables them to keep reaching the next generation through camps, clubs, discipleship, and creative initiatives. If you’re looking to invest in lasting transformation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we wholeheartedly recommend supporting the ministry of Becca and Ivica. Your support is not only appreciated — it is vital.

Director
Ivica Šimunović
Journey From Volunteer To Local Leader
Ivica first connected with Novi Most in 2007 as a volunteer in his hometown of Čapljina. At the time, he considered himself a nominal Catholic, but something about the faith of the Novi Most team challenged him. Their everyday commitment to living out the Gospel—not just on Sundays—stirred something deep in him. In 2009, Ivica gave his life to Jesus, and just a year later, he joined Novi Most as a full-time team member, eager to invest in the lives of young people in his community.
Today, Ivica serves in a wide range of roles. He leads youth work in Čapljina, organizes national youth camps, preaches and leads worship in the local evangelical church, and mentors young people through everyday life. Together with his wife Becca, he also supports creative outreach like a community dance studio and outdoor adventure programs for teens. In a country where faith is often tied to ethnic identity, Ivica models a different way—living out a bold, personal relationship with Christ that inspires others to do the same.
Ivica’s ministry is deeply relational and rooted in the local culture—but it depends on the faithful support of people like you. Would you consider partnering with him through prayer and financial giving? Your support enables him to continue investing in the next generation, building trust, sharing the Gospel, and discipling young people across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Čapljina
Herzegovina's City of Sunshine
Novi Most has been working in Čapljina since 2007, when we opened a youth centre in the town. From the beginning, English learning has been a key activity, providing an accessible way to connect with young people through conversation classes, accredited courses, and homework support.
Many young people who attend English classes also take part in other Novi Most activities, including weekly hangouts, day trips, regional gatherings with other Novi Most centres, snowboarding trips, and camps. The team also works closely with the local Evangelical church, one of only a small number of Protestant churches in the Herzegovina region.
