Legacy Of Faithfulness

Indira, a native of Mostar—the city where Novi Most's journey began—was inspired to join the organisation after witnessing the deep love and commitment we have for the people of her hometown. Moved by this passion, she became an integral part of our mission to foster unity and faith among the youth of Mostar.

Over the years, Indira has become one of the longest-serving members of Novi Most, working alongside Budo to pioneer youth ministry in a city still healing from its past. Her dedication is evident in her multifaceted roles: from leading weekly youth centre activities like cooking, crafts, and games, to overseeing the Royal Rangers programme—a Christian initiative akin to Scouts that develops practical skills and character in youth aged 9 to 18. Beyond her direct engagement with youth, Indira also shoulders administrative responsibilities, ensuring the smooth operation of Novi Most's initiatives.

Her passion lies in guiding young people to know God and walk with Him in faith, fostering unity in Jesus rather than division by ethnic lines. Her influence extends beyond the youth; many from older generations fondly recall their formative years shaped by Novi Most activities where Indira played a significant role.

Indira's commitment to the Kingdom of Heaven in Mostar is invaluable. Her contributions have not only impacted the lives of countless young people but have also strengthened the Church in Mostar, where she serves as an elder. The affection and respect she receives from the community are encapsulated in the phrase, “Indira, we love you,” a sentiment frequently expressed by the youth and echoed by those who have been touched by her unwavering dedication.

The City of the Bridge

Mostar is where our work began over 30 years ago. The city’s iconic Old Bridge—Stari Most—destroyed during the war in 1993, inspired the name of our organisation, Novi Most, meaning New Bridge.

For three decades, Novi Most has been building “new bridges” in Mostar - between divided ethnic groups, cultures, and people and God. Through sports, music, crafts, education, camps, and other activities, we have connected with thousands of young people, and this work continues today.

We run weekly activities in our youth centre, including cooking, creativity, games, and Royal Rangers, a Christian programme similar to Scouts that helps young people develop practical skills, build friendships, explore nature, and engage in meaningful conversations. We also work closely with local Evangelical churches, supporting their children’s and youth ministries.

Cooking/Craft

A weekly gathering where young people come together to bake, cook, and create in a relaxed and social setting.

Royal Rangers

Scouts-style programme that helps young people develop outdoor skills, practical life skills, and strong character.

Game Night

Thursdays are Games Night in Mostar, where laughter, friendly competition, and games - from Dutch Blitz to surprise finds - create space to connect and talk about life.

Youth Group

In partnership with the local Evangelical Church, our youth group provides Bible teaching, practical application, and activities.
