Bosnia and Herzegovina. For too long those words have only had a negative connotation for too many people. Partly that is because of the war the country experienced in the early nineties; partly because of the social, political and economic struggles it has faced in the two decades since.
Novi Most was born out of a response to the humanitarian crisis caused by war. It continues to exist as a response to the ongoing challenges faced by young people growing up in a country crippled by ethnic division, unemployment and corruption.
Talk to people in Bosnia and Herzegovina about the future and fear and fatalism are never far away. There may be reasons to justify this pessimism, even defeatism, but we believe a better future it possible. We must show it is possible to believe and act differently.
Through all the different activities that we do with young people, we are challenging them to think outside their box, to approach there futures with a revised perspective, and aim to give them leadership skills – we do all of this because we believe (despite what the statistics say!) they deserve to enter their futures with hope and confidence.

I love Novi Most because I love the people who are there, the conversations we have and the places we go together. I really appreciate the way the workers input into us and give us their time.
